Vancouver, CA, Release: For Immediate Release
The Prevention of Organ Failure (PROOF) Centre of Excellence is pleased to announce Dr. Scott Tebbutt as our new chief executive officer. Dr. Tebbutt has served PROOF as chief scientific officer for the past ten years, evaluating and deploying new, high-performance technologies to improve biomedical research and clinical translation, and expanding PROOF R&D programs to include asthma and allergy, diabetes, vaccinology, and cancer immunotherapy.
Going forward, the PROOF Centre will continue with its mission to discover, develop and implement biomarker solutions for improving health outcomes. Dr. Tebbutt’s role within PROOF will emphasize our partnerships with Providence Health Care Research Institute and the UBC Centre for Heart Lung Innovation at St. Paul’s Hospital.
“We will develop additional biomarker collaborations and training opportunities, and we will further our academic and industry support for big data analytics, systems biology, and precision medicine activities, including with a childhood focus – locally, nationally and globally.” – Scott Tebbutt
Dr. Tebbutt succeeds Dr. Bruce McManus, who led PROOF Centre since its inception as a not-for-profit society established by the Networks of Centres of Excellence Secretariat under the Centre of Excellence for Commercialization and Research (NCE CECR) Program. Dr. McManus will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.
“I am thrilled that Dr. Scott Tebbutt, consummate scholar, mentor, learner and innovator, is willing to assume the leadership of the PROOF Centre. As an independent, biosignature-development engine, PROOF Centre requires vision, commitment, connectivity, energy and good humour to be successful. Scott brings all of these essential elements to the PROOF team.” – Bruce McManus
The Board and staff would like to once again thank Dr. McManus for his vision and fearless leadership.
